During this period, the warfare of the Shang Dynasty against the Dongyi tribes did not stop for long times because that the Dongyi tribes were submitting and rebelling repeatedly. T he long-lasting eastern expedition of the Shang Dynasty profoundly influenced the history of the Shang Dy- nasty and the relationship between the Shang Dynasty and the Dongyi tribes. Firstly, the expedition urged and propelled the Shangization of the Dongyi tribes; secondly, the endless conflicts also caused the enduring confrontation between the Shang Dynasty and the Dongyi tribes and the disintegration of the Dongyi tribes.
