To discuss the factors affecting the outcome of treatment of traumatic male urethral stricture. Methods? The maiden therapy effects of 64 cases of traumatic urethral stricture were reviewed and tested by Logrank and Chisquare test and partitions of χ2. Results? The patients were divided into 2 groups according to the length of the stricture. In group 1, the length was 0-2cm, in group 2, it was 2-4cm. The recurrence rate in group 2 was significantly higher than that in group 1(P0.05). The recurrence rate in patients with perioperative urinary infection was significantly higher than that in patients without perioperative urinary infection(P0.05). In maiden therapy, the recurrence rate in patients with urethral dilatation was significantly higher than that in patients with anastomotic urethroplasty(P0.05), but there was no significance between urethral dilatation and internal urethrotomy(P0.05). The recurrence rate in patients with internal urethrotomy was significantly higher than that in patients with anastomotic urethroplasty(P0.05). Conclusion? ① The incidence of urethral stricture recurrence is related to the length of the stricture after urethrotomy. If the length of the stricture is shorter than 2cm, the incidence of urethral stricture recurrence is low, and vice versa. ② After anastomotic urethroplasty, the incidence of urethral stricture recurrence is related to operation, but not related to the length site of the stricture, and previous stricture treatment.
