The main reason is the influence of the frozen soil. With the increase of retaining structures su orted by soil nailing in highway engineering, more attention should be aid to the influence of frostthaw cycle on soil nailing. However, there has been little research on soil nailing in frostsusce tible environment. In this a er, some exam les of soil nailing monitored in winter are introduced andthe behaviors of soil nailing under frost conditions are discussed. The results indicate that frost may have significant influence on soil nailing.
