Abstract：Couplinglossfactor(CLF)isthemostcrucialparameterofStatisticalEnergyAnalysis
(SEA)．Traditionally，CLFcanonlybecalculatedinhighrfequencybandbecauseoftheneedofhigh
modeldensityandmodaloverlap．Inthispaper,atheoreticalstudyofCLFfortwoL-shapedsand—
wichplateswhich canmakeaccurateresultsin low rfequencyband ispresentedusingfiniteele-
mentmethod(FEM)modelcharacteristics．Thefirstpartofthispaperdealswiththederivationof
CLF．Inthesecondpart，afiniteelementofsandwichplateiscreatedwhichtakesintoaccountthe
transversecompressibledeformationofcore，then thedynamicaldifferentialformulation isbuiltup
basedonit．Finally，theCLFoftwoL-shapededge-coupledsandwichplatesarecalculatedwiththe
methodpresented inpartlbyusingtheinformationobtainedfrom part2．Thenumericalresultsare
comparedwith thoseofthecommercialsoftwareAUTOSEA，and itexhibitsagoodagreementbe—
tweenthem．
