In order to make the e ol ing front insen siti e to the multip licat i e noi se , a new speed stop it em based on adapt i e filter is presented. And the propo sed adapti e filt er i s used to obt ain a local contrast im2 age that i s a parameter of speed stop item. Then a new method that e aluat es the ariance of homogeneous area i s p ropo sed. L ast using the decreasing f unction of the local contrast image as the stop item e ol es the le el set function then get s the final segmenta2 tion result . The exp eriment al result s showed that the de elop ed algorithm could segment the image well while suppressing the multi2 p licati e noise.
