The idea of mi provin environm en tal pollu tion by relatin en- vironm ental issue to trade issue is intended tom aintain the fra ile structu re of environm ental cooperation by us in cons id- erab le benefits from trade cooperation, but it is d isadvan ta eous in chan in the payoff function of the ori inal trade am e and thereby affects stability of trade cooperation. A s a developin country, Ch ina should focus on mi m ed iate in ter- ests, trade cooperation, radually and pro ressively mi prove environm en t re u lation criteria in a lon run in the related am e of trade and environm ent so as to prom ote coordinated developm ent of trade and environm ent.
