Mentorship is a relationship built between two people: Mentor (more knowledgeable and experienced) Mentee (less experienced) Mentorship is process of sharing How QCOBA Mentorship Programme Works? How QCOBA Mentorship Programme Works? Mentees: F.6 and F.7 students form groups of 2 to 4 by themselves Each mentee group will be paired up with 2 mentors 1 senior mentor (80’s or before for HKCEE) 1 junior mentor (90’s or after for HKCEE) Role of a Mentor To share experience, insight, successful (unsuccessful) life stories with mentees Senior mentors: To advise on career planning and personal development Junior mentors: To advise on academic choice and university life Role of a Mentee To listen and learn from the mentors To seek guidance and advice from mentors To share your own thinkings and stories To make your own decisions To respect the mentors Benefits to Mentors and Mentees Mentors A recognition of success A way to contribute to our Alma Mater A good chance to rejuvenate Tips for Mentors To share your experiences, no matter good or bad To give exposure to mentees To listen To be patient To take initiatives to contact mentees sometimes Tips for Mentees To take the initiative and be proactive Don’t be shy to ask Be sincere and positive in attitude To take responsibilities of your decisions To show appreciation A two way process to talk about yourself and share your thinkings Suggested Activities To find a mutually convenient time to: Dine out Have outings, e.g. BBQ, cycling, cruise tour, fishing, etc Play ball games Visit mentors at their offices Join QCOBA activities Invite mentors to join QC activities Communicate through phone calls, emails, SMS and/or MSN Make up your group’s own creative activities!
