Group interview 集体面试 Telephone interview Purpose: to screen candidates initially — a selecting process to eliminate the weaker candidates Tips: treat this kind of interview like any other; have a copy of the job description, your resume and covering letter at hand speak manner: speak in a clear voice; answer the interviewer’s questions precisely and briefly; professional, self-confident and friendly One-on-one interview Purpose: judge the applicant’s skills and abilities relating to the position Tips: leave the interviewers a good and deep first impression of yourself be well prepared to answer the interviewers’ question in detail but properly Panel interview / Committee interview Form: You will meet with several interviewers at one time. The interviewers may be your supervisors and colleagues. You will be asked questions in turns by all the panel members. It is stressful. Purpose: to judge the applicant’s skills and abilities relating to the position to see the candidate’s reaction to stress to measure how you interact with different people, especially your future bosses, work peers, or both Tips: Besides some common preparations, some special ones: You should try to impress all of them instead of catering to just one or two. Avoid focusing only on the interviewer who asks you questions, but keep an eye contact with other interviewers while answering questions.
