Abstract: In the pr ject f transf r mati n f pen hearth fur naces int c nverters in the
N . 1 Steelmaking Plant f WISCO, the pr blem f h w t synchr nize the techn l gy
f furnace pr tecti n by slagsplashing w ith extensi n f the furnace campaign life has
been already taken int c nsiderati n. As the r esults w hen the first furnace campaign life

f the N . 2 c nverter arrived at 6 040 heats and the furnace d wn n 20 / M ay 2005
b th the c mbined bl w life and the fur nace campaign life attained 2 1 161 heats synchr
nistic ally . In the later stage f the furnace campaign f the c nverter s the b tt m bl w

rate f the c mbined bl w n c nverters came up t 0. 05 m / ( min !t) , the c mbined
bl w n rati f the c nverters is 100 per cent, c ncentrati n multiplicati n f carb n and
xygen is 0. 002 7. Better pr ducti n results have been achieved.
