= Abstract A IM: To investigate the effi a y and safety of athe-

ter ab lation of atrial fibrillation ( AF) . METHOD : Forty ases
w ere d iagnosed A F, 35 ases were paroxysm al and 5 ases were .
hron i. Segm ental pulm onary vein isolation w ere perform ed in 3 , Cappato
ases, ir um flex pulm onary vein isolation by Carto in 16 ases
and by EnSite in 21 ases. E ffi a y and safety w ere evaluated. , 2003/2006 16 309,
RE ULT : The prmi ary su essfu l ratew as 100% , sinus rhythm 83. 2%, 75. 0% ,
w as sustained in 83. 3% patients after threem onths. The su ess- 72. 3%,
fu l rate w as 97. 1% in paroxysm al AF. There w as no severe 4. 54% ,
omp li ations. CONCLU ION: Radiofrequen y ablation of ,
atrial fibrillation is effe tive and safe.
