Each time when Chinese emperor sent delegations to Ryukyu ，the court held banquets and performed music and dance for these delegates. These performances were recorded in the reports of tribute by some delegates. Based on the Tribute Reports ，from the aspects of dancers ＇ number ，identity ，age ，dressing ，performance ，music etc ，the paper analyses the Ryukyu court dance and summaries its characteristics during the historic development .
