One of Chinese symbols —Chinese dragon Origin of Chinese Dragon Dragon is a legendary kind of creature, which does not exist in the world at all. Nobody really knows where the dragon came from. But it looks like a combination of many animals. For us Chinese, dragons were described visually as a composite of parts from nine animals: the horns of a deer, head of a camel(骆驼), eyes of the rabbit, neck of a snake, abdomen(腹部) of a large cockle(蜃、鸟蛤), scales(鳞片) of a carp(鲤鱼), claws(爪) of an eagle(鹰), paws(掌) of a tiger and ears of an ox. Last touch added to a drawing (画龙点睛) Based on this fairy tale, the last touch added to a drawing is said to be the act of adding pupils to a dragon; that is to say, the last touch in a masterpiece is the most important part of a drawing, or any other important business. And now it becomes a phrase to suggest adding a word or two to clinch the point. Professed love of what one really fears(叶公好龙) In the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476BC), a person named Shen Zhuliang(沈诸梁 ) lived in the Chu state, who addressed himself as Lord Ye. It is said that this Lord Ye was very fond of dragons. The walls had dragons painted on them. The beams, pillars, doors and windows were all carved wit
