Aiming at the current situation and the demand of mass data storage in digital libraries, it is important to build a secured and efficient database in the construction of digital libraries. There are three main types of network storage model, name ly, DAS, NAS and SAN, with their own characteristics. For SAN architecture has centralized management and high- perfor mance storage characters, it is widely used in modern digital library network storage as a storage pattern currently. This article analysed different storage architectures, then proposed a practical storage solution based on IP SAN. It will be ensure the consis tency of the data, safety and reliability. At the same time, it will achieve a centralized management and accessing of different da ta and will provide a safe efficient management environment of storage, and it has good expansibility.
