Nothing would have been possible without the love of my tender parents, who brought me up and gave me constant support during my study. 内容摘要 词汇习得是英语习得中最基本的部分。在英语习得中，大多学生因为词汇缺乏或不能表达其正确意思而使学习陷入困境。词汇是语言的一部分,其认知过程非常复杂。因而学习英语词汇既符合人类的认知规律, 也是英语词汇教学的有益补充。隐喻作为人类思维和认识世界的一种认知方式，不仅是词义扩展的重要途径，而且在词汇习得过程中具有十分重要的作用。本文针对英语词汇习得这一普遍存在的难题,通过探讨概念隐喻与多义词、习语、短语动词、词汇的文化内涵及词汇习得中“高原现象”五个方面的联系, 利用认知语言学中概念隐喻理论的跨域映射功能,以具体形象的实例展示该理论在习得英语词汇,特别是具有抽象意义的词汇时的优势,表现出概念隐喻在词汇认知中的巨大作用,及其对现有的词汇认知方式的补充。此论文通过对英语基本范畴词汇的掌握，多义词的理解及英汉词汇文化的隐喻差异的理解，将展现出概念隐喻在英语词汇习得中具有的重要性和必要性。 关键词: 词汇习得；概念隐喻理论；跨域映射；深层加工；高原现象 Abstract Vocabulary is the most basic part of English acquisition. During English acquisition, most students will be in trouble because of lack of vocabulary and they can not use properly. Vocabulary is a part of language; its cognitive process is very complicated. So Learning English vocabulary is consistent with the law of human’s cognition and a useful complement on learning English vocabulary. Metaphor is a cognitive style for human to think and understand.
