Abstract: Objective T o study th th rap utic ff ct of sacral canal inj ction and manual r duction on
acut lumbar disc h rniation. Methods 500 pati nts diagnos d as acut lumbar disc h rniation w r
quival nt divid d into th sacral canal inj ction group ( n= 250) and th traditional tr atm nt group ( n=
250) . T h clinical symptoms and signs as w ll as th scor s of VAS w r ass ss d b for and on th s cond
day, on w k and 34 w ks aft r th tr atm nt. Results B for tr atm nt, th VAS scor w r ( 8. 6
1. 4) and ( 8. 8 1. 4) points in th traditional tr atm nt group and th sacral canal inj ction group
r sp ctiv ly, and, at 1 day and 1 w k aft r tr atm nt, it w as ( 8. 2 0. 6) and( 5. 3 0. 9) points in th
tr aditional tr atm nt group, and ( 5. 5 0. 9) and ( 2. 7 1. 1) points in th sacral canal inj ction group
r sp ctiv ly. T h r w as significant diff r nc in analg sic ff cts b tw n th tw o groups ( P 0. 05) .
Conclusion Sacral canal inj ction combining with manual r duction is an ff ctiv th rap utic option for
tr atm nt of pati nts w ith lumbar disc h rniation.
