Class will start from 02/19 to 06/10.
*Class will be preceded by three sections: teachers lectures, students oral presentations , field trip attitude and reports as well as discussion.
Grade is evaluated by:
1. Presentation, 10%. Schedules of the presentation will be settled on the first day of the class. Each student is requested to give an introduction of a museum of either domestic or abroad. Each student will have 30 minutes to present. The presentation should be preceded by power point which should be copied in a disc and handed in before June, 3rd.
2. Field tirp attitude and report, 30%.
There will be 5 single fields trips in addition to a compound field trip in this semester for the following museums: (1)Wu-lai Tayan Ethnic Museum, (2)Ping-lin Tea Museum, (3)Ying-ge Porcelain Museum, (4)Pa-li Shi-san-hang Museum, (5)Museum of Ethnology of Academia Sinica.
The compound field trip shall cover the following museums: (1)National Natural Science Museum, (2)Tai-nan Chi-mei Museum, (3)National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, and(4)National Museum of Taiwan Pre-historical Cultures.
The deadline of the field trip report is 10th of June. The paper should be written in English around 10 pages in length, #12 word size , single space and thesis format.
Participation and discussion, 10%.
Volunteer jobs of the class, 10%.
Mid-term and fianl Exam, each occupies 20%.
A class leader should be elected to help the teacher.
This is a three-hour class, the first two hours are for the class lecture, the third one is reserved for the Ethnic Museums practical training.
