分子细胞遗传学常用实验技术 General Laboratory Guidelines Before started: Before you enter the laboratory, make sure you have read and fully understand the laboratory safety manual. Please read the laboratory manual below and follow the guidelines of each experiment. Keep in mind that all the guidelines in this manual are IN GENERAL but not for every detail steps. Make sure you have fully understood each step in the protocol and its reason. Please ask your supervisor if you have anything unclear. Solutions- If you use a solution and the volume is low (less than 500ml), notify the person who makes it. Do not wait until there is almost none left. If you anticipate using a lot of a specific solution, you may want to make some for yourself. Make sure all solutions are labeled with your initials, date and the chemical name and concentration. Pipet tips and microfuge tubes- After you use a box of pipet tips, refill it and place it on the shelf. When several accumulate technician will autoclave them and return to the drawer. Keep your plastic box of microfuge tubes. You can just refill your box as necessary. Don’t accumulate many pipet boxes without refilling them or others won’t have any to use. Autoclave- Do not autoclave waste items with sterile items. Orders- If you see that something is running low or if you anticipate using a lot of an item, notify the responsible person and he will place the order. Do not wait until the item is gone or almost gone- give the order in advance. Laminar Flow Hood- Make sure you spray it down with 70% ethanol before and after you use it. If the hazardous waste is filled- autoclave it. Do not let it overfill- the waste should be disposed of weekly. Dishes- We have a very small sink so wash your glassware everyday. Wash with soap and water. Rinse with distilled water. When your items have dried, put them away. Don’t let items accumulate near the sink. The same goes for your bench- clean up after every use.
