e.g. Mary was in the sitting-room.
Using the simple past tense to talk about past activities
e.g. John came in.
Using adjectives to describe people.
e.g. John and Mary were afraid.

e.g. What was in the spaceship? 教学媒体 The pictures of UFO, etc.
课前学生准备 English book, listening to the tape. 教学流程 Pre-task preparation
1. Daily talk.
2. Show some pictures of UFO. Say: Do you want to know something about UFO?
Introduce something about UFO.
While-task procedure
Say: Today we will learn a story about UFO.
Play the cassette: Read a story. The students listen and follow in their book.
Introduce the sounds: hsss, hmmm.
Tell the students to be very quiet so that they can listen to hear any sounds around. Ask: What can you hear
Divide the students into five groups. Each group reads a paragraph of the passage aloud.
Work in pairs, do Read and answer.
