M ethods D rosoph ilas and hou se flies w ere g iven w ith LDW and TPP ( 1 g /100 g m ed ium for D rosoph ilas and 1 mg / m l distilled w a- ter for hou se flies, resp ective ly) fo r all life sp an p eriod. T he long ev ity and surv ival rate w ere ana ly zed, and the activ ity of sup erox ide dis- mutase ( SOD ) and the content o f m a lond iadehyde (M DA ) and lipo fuscin in the bra in o f m a le hou seflies w ere m easured. Results Exposure o f flies to LDW and TPP resu lted in increase of the v iab ility ra te and pro long the average and m ax mi um life sp an, as w e ll as increased SOD activ ity and decreased the leve ls o f M DA and lipo fusc in. Conclusions The eff ic iency o f LDW on ant-i ox idation and anti-ag ing w as sign if-i cantly h igher than th at of T PP, the m ech anism of w h ich w as prob ably related to the synerg istic e ffect o f its invo lved m ulti-an tiox idants.
