T h aims of this study was to compar th g n xpr ssion profil s b tw n atroph- ic gastritis and non-atrophic gastritis using cDNA microarray and to xplor th mol cular m chanisms in th d v lopm nt of atrophic gastritis. Methods Endoscopy and biopsy w r p rform d cons cutiv ly in 227 pa- ti nts ( 143 mal , 84 f mal , ag rang b tw n 16-72 y ars, w ith av rag ag 48. 6 y ars) . Diagnosis of non- atrophic gastritis and atrophic gastrit is was mad according to histological x amination, and 120 pati nts w r in non-atrophic group and 107 in atrophic group. Th total RNA w as xtract d from th biopsy sp cim ns of t wo groups w ith Trizol r ag nt. cDNA microarray consisting 8 464 human g n s ( HGEC- 80s kit) w as us d, and lab l d cDNA with fluor sc nc prob s w r hybridiz d to microarray , and th n th comparison of g n xpr ssion profil s was mad b tw n atrophic and non-atrophic gastritis. Results It w as id ntifi d that in g n xpr ssion profil s of atrophic gastrit is th r w r 165 g n s showing a gr at r than 2-fold incr as and 460 g n s showing a gr at r than 50% d cr as as compar d to non-atrophic gastritis.
