(diction) 我总是对她极尽赞誉之词,而她确实值得这样的赞誉。 Unit One A General Knowledge of Translation 1.2 According to Peter Newmark (彼特·纽马克), a noted British translator and translation theorist, translation, often, though not by any means always, is rendering the meaning of a text into another language in the way the author intended the text. 1.3 As for the renowned American translation theorist Eugene A. Nida (尤金·奈达), translation is not accomplished by merely substituting words in a word-for-word equivalence. More often than not, this will not produce the force (or dynamic) of meaning. The translator will therefore modify the form of words so as to achieve the same force of meaning. The jargon for the same force of meaning is dynamic equivalence. And in late 1960s, Eugene A. Nida defined translation as : Translation?consists?in?reproducing?in?the?receptor?language?the?closest?natural quivalence?of?the?source?language,?first?in?terms?of?meaning?and?secondly?in? terms? of?style.(翻译,?是在
