T he interaction betw een the ultrasonic w ave and optical f iber sensor is dis- cussed. T he theoretical analysis of optical f iber sensor sensitiv ity relying on the eff ective length of sensing f iber and number of U type optical f iber is g iven. Ex perimental r esults are in accord w ith theoretical analysis of sensitiv ity. Comparing output voltage of photodetector under t hree diff erent incidence manners, the signal detected by t his sensor is strong est w hen vertical incidence via exper iment . So this sensor is fit for beamed monitoring of acou stic w ave.
