研究的目的和意义:
As the rapid development of globalization, English is treated as lingua franca. Harmer, in his article, introduces the wide use of English in European Union and other countries in detail.(Harmer: 1) English, in China, also plays a significant role in development of our economy, culture and education. Thus, much emphasis is laid on English teaching and learning. But the focus is mostly on listening and speaking. In primary school, teachers hardly mention writing. The purpose of English course is practicing students’ spoken English. During middle school, teachers and students exert their efforts on vocabulary or grammar rules, so that the ignorance of writing training is obvious.
Although listening, speaking, reading and writing are four basic language skills, the situation of writing is the most awkward. A present survey, made by Yang Rong, shows the average scores of CET-4 are less than 7. Only 15% to 25% of CET-4 participators, in key colleges, can get 8 or more scores in writing part. (杨蓉:2005) Writing scores are the lowest part in students’ total scores, so that much complaint and anxiety of the students are understandable. How did this situation happen? What can the teacher do to solve the problem?
Traditional writing course focuses more on language forms. In order to improve student’s language abilities, teachers hardly avoid explaining grammar and list many writing criteria for students. At last, writing course becomes grammar course or error-correcting course. Students ca
