Methods Clinic l nd neuror diologic l d t of 21 c ses wit h leptomeninge l met st ses w ere retrospectively review ed. In this se- ries, 16 p tients were studied by CT nd 7 p tients by MRI, 2 p t ients by both CT nd MRI . Results Abnorm l enh ncement of pi nd sub r chnoid sp ce, ppe ring s diffuse p ttern in 10 c ses, nodul r p ttern in 8 c ses nd mixed p ttern w ith diffuse plus nodules in 3 c ses, w ere visu lized by CE-CT nd Gd- MRI. Diffuse enh ncement follow ed the convolutions of gyri nd surf ce of br instem, nd extended into cerebr l cisterns nd sulci. The foci ppe red s enh nced nodules 0. 2- 3. 0 cm in di meter nd 1 or more in number. Nodules with infiltr tion of cerebr l p renchym l were found in 4 p tients. In 86% of ll c ses, diffuse or nodul r foci occurred in b sil r cysterns nd dj cent cerebell r nd cerebr l sulci. There were 4 c ses ssoci ted with ependym l nodul r enh ncement nd 10 c ses w ith w idened irregul r tentori l en- h ncement.
