The hydrolysis process of silane is one of the most important steps in the application and the amount of Si-OH from hydrolysis has a directly effect on the pretreatment results of silanization. In this study the hydrolysis behaviors of γ-APS were systematically investigated by 1H NMR spectra, Conductivity measurement and FT-IR spectra. The 1H NMR results showed that the γ-APS step-wise hydrolysis behaviors can be investigated according to the changes of the peaks O-CH -CH and αCH . However the γ-APS hydrolysis rate was speeded 2 3 2 up by the intense magnetic field of NMR ，which made it impossible to trace the realistic hydrolysis behaviors of γ-APS. The consequences from the Conductivity measurement suggested that the conductivity of γ-APS hydrolysis systems was gradually increased with the proceeding of hydrolysis reaction. Although the hydrolysis and condensation reactions occurred in the γ-APS solution can be roughly described due to the changes of con- ductivity, the composition and content of hydrolysis products with the changing time can not been determined exactly.
