It i s p roved by t he ex p eriment s t hat t he chemical p rop erties of sulfurcont aining cellulo se derivatives which are excellent kinds of solid adsorbent are more st able t han inor ganic sulfides. Their sulfur cont ent reduced lower t han 10 % when t hey were expo sed in air for one mont h . Their hydrolytic ratio wa s less t han 3 % when t hey were soaked in neut ral aqueou s solution for 10 day s at room t emp erat ure . And t he sat urat ed adsorp tion cap acit y of SC was Hg2 + 58mg/ g , Cu2 + 17mg/ g , Pb2 + 55mg/ g , Cd2 + 29mg/ g , while t hat of CCX wa s Hg2 + 82mg/ g , Cu2 + 26mg/ g , Pb2 + 77mg/ g , Cd2 + 49mg/ g resp ectively . Furt hermore , t heir adsorp tion cap acities on heavy met al ion s were not reduced when t hey were regenerat ed for 10 time
