Department of Stomatology , Beijing Municipal Corps Hospital , Chinese People ’s Armed Police Forces , Beijing 100027 , China Abstract 　Objective 　To find out the factors influencing the injury of the inferior alveolar nerve associated with mandibular fractures , thereby helping the surgeon diagnose and deal with the nerve injury as early as possible.Methods 　Sensory status of the inferior alveolar nerve was monitored in 30 patients with 31 fractured sites of the mandibles. The following variables were studied in each patient : age , sex , type of fracture , time span between fracture occurrence and treatment , degree of displacement ,and type of treatment.
