2002 1 2002, 1 154 Foreign Languages and Their Teaching Serial 154 从文化结构看跨文化交际研究的重点与难点 顾嘉祖 ( 南京师范大学外国语学院, 江苏南京 210097) : 在人类科学史上, 自然科学起步较早, 而触及人本身的学科 一直滞后冲破重重社会 阻力而产 的文化学是 人类科学史上的重大突破尽管文化具有自己的结构系统已被众多学 者接受, 文化或被看作是 巨型语言 后语言结 构, 或被看作是 第二符号系统, 文化结构仍缺乏精确科学的描述霍尔关于公开的文化与隐蔽文化的描述填补了这方 面的 空白笔者提出观念是隐蔽文化层中的主要埋藏物, 而观念的核心是价值系统, 跨文化交际研究应将挖掘隐蔽文化 层作为研究的重点与难点, 而揭示其中的价值观念作为 重中之重 难中之难 : 文化结构; 文化交际; 重点与难点 Abstract: Science emerges irst and matures astest in ields unrelated to human behavior such as pure sciences; conversely, science appears latest and matures slow est in ields related to humans themselves . The emergence o culturology is a breakthrough in the history o science development . In spite o the acknowledg ement that culture has its own structures which can be regarded as a huge langua ge and that culture is made up o a post_linguistic structure or second semiotic system , culture lacked a more precise, scienti ic description o its systems . H alls classi ication o culture into covert culture and overt culture ill in th e blank . The author o this paper believes that con- cepts are the main components in the stratum o covert culture and their core is value system . Intercultural communication studies should lay emphasis on covert culture and ocus its attent ion on the exposure o value systems .
