University of Wisconsin Madison MADPH February The Search for Higgs Bosons of Minimal Sup ersymmetry at the LHC Chung Kao Department of Physics University of Wisconsin Madison Wisconsin Abstract The prosp ects for discovering neutral Higgs b osons in the minimal sup ersymmetric mo del MSSM and in the minimal sup ergravity mo del MSUGRA at the LHC are investigated Two sp ecial discovery channels are discussed i the photon pair decay of the MSSM CPo dd Higgs b oson and ii the muon pair decays of neutral Higgs b osons and in the MSUGRA INTRODUCTION In the minimal sup ersymmetric mo del MSSM there are two Higgs doublets 1 and 2 coupling to fermions with t3 and t3 resp ectively After sp ontaneous symmetry breaking there remain ve physical Higgs b osons a  0 0 pair of singly charged H two neutral CPeven H heavier and h lighter and a 0 neutral CPo dd A The Higgs p otential is constrained by sup ersymmetry such that all treelevel Higgs b oson masses and couplings are determined by two indep endent parameters commonly chosen to b e mass of the CPo dd pseudoscalar m and A ratio of the vacuum exp ectation values VEVs of Higgs elds tan v2 v1 Extensive studies have b een made for the detection of MSSM Higgs b osons at the CERN LHC Most studies have fo cused on the SM decay mo des 0 0 0  0
