重庆大学硕士学位论文英文摘要ABSTRACTSince2008,theeconomyofmanycountriesintheworldhasbeendamagedtodifferentdegreesbytheglobalfinancialcrisiscausedbytheU.S.SubprimeMortgageCrisis.Manyworldfamousenterpriseswhichhavebeenaffectedbythedepressiontakemeasurestoprotectthemselvesinthefaceoftheseriousfinancialcrisisandthebestpolicyisdownsizing.ChinahasestablishedamoreandmorecloserelationshipwiththeworldeconomysinceitsaccessiontotheWTO,soChina’seconomywouldnotsparethedownturn.TheglobalfinancialcrisiscausedbythetheU.S.SubprimeMortgageCrisishasaffectedChina’srealeconomy.Sincethesecondhalfof2008,China’seconomyhasbeenundergoingmoreandmoreprominentdifficulties.Manycompaniesfacethechallengeofdownsizing.Ifhandledwell,itcanchangethedangeranddifficultiesintoopportunitiesforenterprisestosurviveandprovideabetterplatformfortheirdevelopment.Ifnot,thesituationwouldgofrombadtoworse,evenbankruptcy.However,manycompaniesjusttaketheshort-terminterestsintoconsideration,ignorantofthelong-termnegativeeffectscausedbythelayoffs.Withoutcarefulanalysisandconsiderationofredundancy,itwouldbringcorporationsanadverseimpactonthelong-termdevelopment,therefore,howtoconductlayoffsandselectrationaldownsizingmodeisveryworthyofattentionandstudyofpracticalissue.　Blindcutsandlayoffsaftercarefulanalysisandlong-termconsiderationwillleadtodifferentresultsalthoughhumanresourcesarewell-reallocatedandproperlyused.Sohowtoimprovetheeffectivenessofdownsizingisworthin-depthstudy.Theefficiencyofdownsizingbearsacloserelationshipwiththedownsizingprocess.Inthisarticle,issuesintermsoflayoffsunderthesituationoffinancialcrisiswillbeanalyzedandhowtomakethedownsizingactivitiesmoreeffectivewillbediscussed,firstly,thefinancialcrisisandthebackgroundofdomesticcorporationsdownsizing,followedbythereviewofthetheoryoflayoffsathomeandabroadwiththepurposeofhavingaclearunderstandingoftheoreticalbasisofthisstudy;then,inthelightofthefinancialcrisis,analyzingthereasonsforlayoffsofthedomesticcorporations;next,analyzingthebenefitsandharmsandweighinguptheprosandc
