I II ABSTRACT THE CONTROLLER RESEARCH AND APPLICATION ON WCDMA/HSDPA BASEBAND IC ABSTRACT Nowadays we are at the transition period from 2G to 3G.. In the future, there are WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA three standards for 3G communication network. For simple servicing, operators will choose the standard could upgrade from existing system. So WCDMA have an edge over the other standards. In china, Huawei is the biggest WCDMA datacard manufacturer all over the world. Zhongxing’s WCDMA phone and datacard have good sales. Along with the WCDMA network of China Unicom’s building, except for Zhongxing and Huawei, more and more phone manufacturer and design house will enter this field, the requirement of WCDMA terminal will increase significantly. However, there is a less choice of WCDMA IC. So the IC market has a broad developing space. The program used a WCDMA base band IC designed by Mobilepeak. It make up a WCDMA solution with ABB and a power monitor unit. Because our RF IC is designing, now we use Infineon’s RF IC (PMB5701) We introduce the basic technique of WCDMA. On this base, bring forward a solution of WCDMA on the BB IC, and design a hardware system. For in-depth knowledge about this solution, we introduce the main ICs in detail. In chapter three, we introduce BB IC’s functions and frame work, analyze the NAND Flash Controller and SDRAM Controller in detail. In chapter four, we introduce the theory of ADC, DAC and LVDS interface on ABB IC.
