Ancient and Modern Literature Research on The Moxibustion Therapy Speciality:Acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina Author:Zhang Kun Tutor:Tan QiWen Abstract Objective: To systematize the related records and identify the respective characteristics of the therapy of moxibustion in TCM documents of every period, to seek for the applied regularity of the moxibustion therapy and explore new applied methods and rules of it, which may offer better reference for clinical practice and scientific research.Methods: By combining the TCM literatural approaches and the statistic methods, the writer analyzes the applied regularity and characteristics of the moxibustion therapy in different dynasties, and summarizes the changes of the applied regularity of the moxibustion therapy by comparative analysis on ancient and contemporary literature. Results: Among the moxibustion materials, the moxa always serves as the main while the others the accessories; The applied method of the moxibustion therapy has changed in that the application of festering moxibustion has decreased; the materials for sandwiched moxibustion have changed obviously mainly in that the kind of the materials for sandwiched moxibustion has decreased, the application of ginger and medicine has increased and the application of the garlic has decreased. The defining factors of quantitative moxibustion are complex and various and each of them possesses its own particular emphasis.Conclusion: The application of the moxibustion has certain regularity, however, the applied regularity changes with the age shifting.
