Clinical Studies on Tourttes Syndrome by Invigorating Spleen and Regulating Qi 、Calming Wind and Resolving Phlegm Speciality：Pediatrics of TCM Author ：Wang Jing Tutor：Prof.Yan ZhaoJun ABSTRACT Object ：To evaluate the effectiveness and security of invigorating spleen and regulating qi 、calming wind and resolving phlegm on TS caused by liver wind agitation with phlegm.Methods ：66 patients consisitence with diagnostic criteria were equally divided into the treatment group and the compatibility group.The treatment group was administered with traditional Chinese medicine on the principle of Invigorating Spleen and Regulating Qi 、calming wind and resolving phlegm， while the compatibility group with coalescent traditional Chinese medicine and Haloperidol.12 weeks would be a course of treatment.We observed the tic category ， frequency ，instensity and the improvement of effect on life or behavior in both group before and after the treatment according to the Yale global tic severity(YGTSS) and Child Behavior Check-list(CBCL).Result ：Compared with pre-treatment ， posttreatment outcome of both group can effectively improve the effect of TS in terms of posttreatment outcome of YGTSS and CBCL(P＜0.05)，while there was no significant difference between the treatment group and the compatibility group(P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion ：Invigorating Spleen and Regulating Qi 、calming liver wind and resolving phlegm is effective on TS caused by liver wind agitation with phlegm.
