The Influence of Health Education under TCM Stroke Unit in Treating Qi-deficiency Patients of Stroke Speciality:TCM cure diseases of the nervous system Author:Wei Hongyu Tutor:prof.Wang Fade Abstract Objective:To find a new model and new method on prevention and treatment Of Qi-deficiency type of stroke directed by TCM theory.Methods:60 cases of Qi-deficiency type of stroke patiens were randomly divided into TCM health education group (observation group)and Western Medicine health education(control group).patiens of Observation Group accepted the health education guided by TCM theory which required non-restricted diet and reduced physical activity.Those of control group took low-salt and low-fat diet,restricted total calorie intake and exercised 1-2 hours everyday.Results:Comparison between the two groups after treatment show that Qi-deficiency points,NIHSS and BI had statistically significant(P ﹤0.05);health care satisfaction score of observation group was significantly higher than control group(P ﹤ 0.05);6 months later,re-admission patients,died patients,incidence of complications,total cost of hospitalization and days in the observation Group was significantly lower than in the control group(P ﹤0.05).Conclusion:Compared with modern medicine,the health education guided by TCM theory could improve daily living activities of Qi-deficiency type of stroke patients,improve patients’ satisfaction,reduce the readmission rate and complications,thereby reducing the cost of treatment.
