The ability aims: Ss can understand the model dialogues and make their own dialogues for talking about confidence in English. Ss will develop some words and phrases as well as their listening and speaking skills. The emotional aims： Students will the importance of confidence and they will overcome the fear of listening and speaking. 二、教学重点、难点： Important points: Ss will be able to speak out the patterns for talking about confidence. Difficulties: Ss can make situational dialogues for talking about confidence with the words and sentence patterns. 三、教学准备： A blackboard, books, chalks, PPt. and exercises. Questions and discussions Ask the students to prepare for part 1 and part 4 and finish the exercises. 四、教学过程与时间分配： Step I Greetings and Warming up 1. Greet the students as usual. 2. Discuss confidence with Ss. Step II Listening and speaking (Write the titles on the blackboard) A. That means a lot! 1. Before Listening to the dialogue, ask students questions about their confidence and their comments on confidence to warm up the class. 2. Listen to the dialogue and ask the students to imitate the speakers while listening 3. Students do pair works to encourage other to be confident with the patterns given. B. You will succeed! 1.
