学年论文（设计） Title: Analysis of the Causes of Tess’s Tragedy 题目：浅析苔丝悲剧成因 学生姓名：张 巧 云 专 业：英 语 学 号：201120500116 指导老师：陈 勇 二零一三年一月 Abstract Thomas Hardy, as a cross-century literature master, his most famous important representative novel---“Tess of the d’Urbervilles”, is also one of the greatest works in English literature. The story happened in the late 19th century, about a pure girl who struggled to live a better life after lost her virginity, but finally could not escape the talons of destiny tragedy from the social and family environment. The main female character--- Tess, as a charming woman, who was dealing the double below from the body and spirit of two men---Alec and Angel, eventually turned into the funeral object in the original exploitation of social religion and capitalist. This paper based on the analysis of the characters and the social environment to discuss the fate of Tess tragedy causes.Born in a small poor village, strong and sensible Tess has not succumbed to fate and always sacrifice for her family and husband, but at last been swallowed by fate in the process of fighting with it. Her struggle does not get help, just been abandoned by traditional feudal thinkers and capital class. The so-called “justice” becomes the camouflaged mask at that time. Key words: Destiny tragedy; Fight; Capitalism; Emotional below 摘要 托马斯·哈代作为一位跨世纪的文学巨匠，《苔丝》是他最重要的代表作也是英语文学中最伟大的作品之一。小说讲述在19世纪后期的一个纯真少女苔丝在失贞之后重新振作但最终都无法逃脱社会环境与家庭环境命运魔爪的悲剧。小说主人公苔丝迷人的女性形象，在两个男主人公亚力克和安琪儿的身体、精神的双重打击与社会宗教和资本主义的剥削下沦为时代的陪葬品。本论文通过对人物性格与当时社会环境的分析来论述苔丝命运的悲剧成因。出生在贫困的小乡村，坚强、懂事的苔丝一直未屈服于命运却始终在为爱作出牺牲，为家庭作出牺牲，最后在反抗命运时被其吞噬。她的抗争得不到援助，只是受到传统封建思想者的抛弃与资本阶级的打击。所谓的“正义”成为了当时道德的伪装面具。 关键词：命运悲剧；抗争；资本主义；精神打击 CONTENTS Chapter 1 Introduction…………………………………………………………1 Chapter 2 Social and Family background in Tess’s Fate..................................2 2.1 Tess’s Pressure from Family....................................................................2 2.2 Tess’s Pressure from Society....
