Neusoft Co., Ltd. 2006 Neusoft Co., Ltd. 2006 Were going to be looking back a little bit today at some of the announcements we made two years ago at Forum 2000 and talk about the progress weve made in the new architecture that weve sent Microsoft on starting at that point. It was a very bold thing that we did, something that affected all of Microsofts products, and in a sense it was a bet-the-company strategy. Just like our bet on graphics interface or our strategies around the Internet, we needed to make sure that all of our energy was behind a single approach. September of that year 2000 we shipped our enterprise products. Perhaps labeling those .NET products was premature. Some of the key elements were there, the XML support, and weve rolled out additions to those server products and now we have total support for XML and SOAP based capabilities. In some ways you can say the first generation of .NET products were putting a layer on top of the existing functionality and making sure the exchange with the new standards was there whether it was SQL or Exchange or Office, and now were moving into the phase where its far more profound, where the entire design of the product has XML to the core. We already have several products like BizTalk, Visual Studio that are designed in that way. March 2001 we took some of the things wed talked about at Forum 2000 about users being able to get at their information across any device, being able to be alerted or authenticated across any device and any service and announced that in what we later called .NET My Services. There were elements of this that in some ways were premature, the whole way we were doing the data model, the way we allowed other people to do the storage and things like that, but again its a central element of this vision is that people can get at information, that information is not related to the device, say your PC at work or your PDA, that information is your information and software will automatically br
