Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night --- by Dylan Thomas Du Xinrun Dylan Marlais Thomas (October 27, 1914 – November 9, 1953) a Welsh poet and writer Dylan Thomas, 1914–1953 Born in Swansea, South Wales, son of a severe headmaster Fragile in health but rich in imagination. Never financially comfortable, always struggling to support his family, but lived a boisterous, turbulent, bohemian life with a reputation for gustatorial lovemaking. Died of excessive drinking in New York. He had once read his own and others’ poetry in his impressive sonorous voice on the BBC. His complex imagery is based on many sources, including Welsh legend, Christian symbolism, witchcraft, astronomy, and Freudian psychology Villanelle [.vil?‘nel]维拉内拉诗 ( 16 世纪法国的19 行二韵体诗) Traditional poetic form that entered English-language poetry in the late 1800s from the imitation of French models. 19 lines long, but only uses two rhymes First five stanzas are triplets[‘triplit]三个一组, last stanza is a quatrain.
