的启示。然而,本研究有待进一步完善的地方有:首先,不同水平的受试完成测试需要的时间不等, 过长的时间可能使某些受试失去耐心,因此将来的研究可以在测试时间上给予考虑;其次,阅读任 务完成的优劣可能也会影响学习者词汇附带习得,所以将来的研究也可以将这个方面的问题考虑进 去;最后,本文仅对目的词词义的习得做了相应的研究,然而学习和掌握一个词汇不仅只是掌握该 词的词义,还包括了解其发音、词形、搭配、语用、语境等方面的知识,所以未来的研究也可以考 虑这些方面的习得。 【关键词】词汇附带习得,话题熟悉度,二语水平,二语词汇习得,二语词汇保持 v Abstract Numerous theoretical descriptions and empirical studies have been accomplished on incidental vocabulary acquisition over several decades, but a few has taken into account the effects of reader-based factors on IVA. Therefore, to further explore incidental vocabulary learning, the present study attempted to examine the effects of two reader-based factors, i.e., topic familiarity and second language proficiency, on IVA through reading expository passages. The present study consisted of six chapters. Chapter one introduced the background, significance and aims of this study. Chapter two reviewed the theories and studies on IVA, IVA and reading, the effects of reader-based factors on IVA in reading and text types. Chapter three was the theoretical foundation of this study, definitions of key terms and specific introductions to interactive reading and study by Pulido (2003) included. Chapter four described the research methodology in details, including research questions, participants, reading materials, target words, measures of variables and research procedures. 186 learners attended the
