Develop students` reading ability and let them learn different reading skills as skimming, scanning, main ideas, reasoning, major details, structure, logic.(见附录) ◆?? Enable the students to learn about Yuan Longping and his achievements. ◆?? Encourage students to design “True or False” tasks by themselves with the help of the teacher. Teaching important points:教学重点 Develop students` reading ability as skimming, scanning, main ideas, reasoning, major details, structure, logic (见附录). ◆Design “True or False” exercises by themselves Teaching methods: 教学方法 Textual Teaching and cooperative learning Teaching aids: 教学工具 A computer and a projector Teaching Procedures:教学过程 Step I: Warming up Greetings Show some pictures of hungry people in China and abroad Guide the students to think about how to help them and then the teacher bring out Dr Yuan Longping. Explain there will be a competition between the four groups and the winner groups will get surprises. Step Ⅱ fast reading Match the main idea of each paragraph (5 scores each) Para. 1 A.
