Topic: The bird, the cat and the dog

Task: Retell the whole story.
Background study and material analyze :
每班学生为30人左右,小部分学生有一定的英语基础,学习英语时间较长。大部分学生还是从一年级起步的,学习时间只有三年多, 逐步养成了听说读写的习惯。本堂课新授的是教材 4BM3U1 Story的内容。在本节课之前,学生已对因此他们对于书本呈现的这些语法内容(现在进行时,介词结构的用法)都能掌握,在此基础上进行延伸,来展开故事的教学。本课时以学生实际情况出发,喜欢听故事的特点为载体,适当地把故事情节拓展开来,让故事多变的情节能为学生的语言学习创造了各种不同的语言发展空间;让学生能用丰富的表情和肢体语言,发挥:
1. Use prepositions to indicate position.
2. Use the present continuous tense to describe an action taking place at the time of speaking.
3. Ask ‘Wh-‘ questions to find out various kinds of specific information about an event.
4. Retell the story and try to understand the whole story.
Difficulties: Retell the story with proper intonation and actions.

Look at the house. It’s not very big. Beside the house, there is a cage. In the cage, there is a bird. Under the cage, there is a cat. Behind the cat, there is a dog. The cat wants to catch the bird. It is jumping. The cage is falling. The bird is afraid. The bird is flying. The cat is angry. It is chasing the bird. The dog is happy. It is chasing the cat. Now, the bird is at the top of the tree. The cat is in the tree. It is climbing the tree. The dog is under the tree. Suddenly, they hear Mr Donald. The bird is happy. It is flying. The cat is afraid. It is falling. The dog is afraid, too. It is running. Look! The bird is in the cage again. The cat is in the house. The dog is beside the door.
