Abstract Shanxi province is the biggest productive base of coal in China,Shanxi coal industry plays an important role and Shanxi coal enterprises have done a huge contribution to development of the national economy and society．But at the same time，coal industry appears some problems，such as astonishing wast to the resource，the serious damage to the ecosystem，the multifarious trouble of safe and the disharmony development of mining area and SO on．These problems have became an obstacle to smooth progress of the coal industry,economy in Shanxi province and even national economy and society．So how Can Shanxi coal industry not only efficiently make use of resource to creat social benefits，but also conserve the local ecosystem and implement the strategy of sustainable development is the key content of this dissertation．Circular economy is a new mode of economic development which could realize resource saving，environment protecting and sustainable development．The circular economy becomes the best choice for Shanxi coal industry to leap forward development and explore a new industrial road． This dissertation firstly gives the background，meaning and the development condition of the circular economic through Our country and the world．Then it introduces the creation，evolution and correlation theory of circular economy,starts from the investigation about the waste of resources and destruction of environment caused by the development of coal industry in Shanxi province，summarizing the theory and practice of circular economy both at home and abroad， analysing the fundamentals，current situation，problem，reason，superiority about circular economy development of Shanxi coal industry,searching the circular economy development model of Shanxi coal industry based on the reality of them．At the end，the dissertation analyses the difficulties of circular economy which the coal industry development in OUr province and offer proposals． [Key Words] circular economy；coal industry；development mod
