Investigation of milk COW endometritis and study on its prevention with Chinese herbal medicine in Changji Abstract Endometritis caused by pathogenic microorganism is a main reason to result in the infertility in dairy COWS．7 1 7 COW sampled including backyard households and standardization farms were investigated between May 2006 and Sep 2006 in Changji．1 5 COW sampled among in 7 1 7 were selected to isolate and identify bacteria,which may lead to COW endometritis．The extemal bacteriostasis experiment were measured by herbal body．78 COWS were selected to study the Chinese herbal medicine prescriptions of clinical trials for the prevention and control of dairy COW endometritis． 1．According to investigation of the COW endometritis morbidity regularly and reason，the average of morbidity ofcows in Changji area is 32．O％．And it is higher 1 2．8％than standardization farms to backyard households farms． 2．Among 7 1 7 COWS，there were 230 COWS infected endometritis including 1 87 retention afterbirth， which were occupied the total accouchement COWS 26．1％and sick COWS 8 1．3％． 3．The results show that the 3-4years old COWS had the lowest morbidity,and with the age of the COWS which are from 4 to 8 years old，the morbidity of the endometritis is gradually increased．However，from 2 to 4 years old．the morbidity of endometritis is decreasing． 4．32 strains were isolated from 1 5 samples，including 6 kinds of bacterium，which were Cerea bacillus (8 strains)，streptococcus(8 strains)，Staph)‘lococcus aureus(7 strains)，Staphylococcus epidermidis(4 strains)，Bacillus coli(3 strains)and Campylobacter fetus(2 strains)． 5．5．From drug sensitivity test by agar diffusion method，the 6 Chinese medical had different inhibitory to isolation．Among of them，Arabesques of forsythia,rhizoma coptidis and rhubarb were more sensitive to isolates，motherwort and angelica low-alcohol sensitive．Moreover motherwort and angelica bacteriostatic action of both classes of drugs qingrejiedu drugs than itself． 6．According t
