The Analysis of Current Situation of Cultural Self―Confidence of College Students 【Abstract】The high level of the cultural confidence is essential to instruct college students to integrate individual dream into Chinese dream， which is also the spirit source to transmit positive social energy. However，the current part of college students lack of cultural self-confidence，the loss display mainly that they are cognitive deficiencies on the national traditional culture，they blind recognition of western culture，they do not pay attention to contemporary Chinese advanced culture. 【Key words】Self-confidence in culture；National culture；Western culture A high cultural self-confidence is the inevitable requirement to become the national backbone and the source of the spirit to resist cultural hegemony. However， the impact of globalization brought about by Western cultural and the excessive pursuit of material interests and the disrespect of the indifference of the national culture arisen by economic confidence， resulting in some students’ lack of cultural self-confidence， which makes people concerned about its current situation， mainly reflected in： they are cognitive deficiencies on the national traditional culture，they blind recognition of western culture，they do not pay attention to contemporary Chinese advanced culture. 1 Cognitive deficiencies on the national traditional culture According to a survey， college students who think traditional cultural situation very strong count only 20% while fading 24%； those who feel optimistic about the future of traditional culture take only 23%. Besides， the students feeling that it is hard to say， not optimistic and very pessimistic count 44% and 4% respectively. College students who read China’s literature repeatedly only account for 15% and those who have never read one take10%， and some even said： “I have never read， and I don’t want to read”.
