Various personal touch electronics products have emerged in the market. Touch devices, such as smartphones, tablet personal computers (PCs), and touch screens are common in daily life. Tablet PCs used as a touch mobile device have occupied the personal mobile device market at an amazing growth rate. Moreover, people have used tablet PCs as electronic backpacks or briefcases and replacements for laptop computers. However, the virtual keyboards of tablets have changed the visual and haptic feedback mechanisms of tangible keyboards. Users are not adaptive to this change in typing when using tablets. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore users’ use performance and psychological burdens while using typing devices with different feedback mechanisms for English typing. This study created an innovative haptic feedback touch keyboard and connected the keyboard to a tablet PC to conduct effectiveness experiments of typing input. We further analyzed results through experimental and statistical processes to explore users’ use performance when typing in English.
