Step1. Greeting and Lead-inT :Hello! everyone. Good morning. My name is… .I’m your English teacher this
term. Have you learnt English before?
S: Yes!
T Greet the students one by one with:
--Hello, … Good morning, … lead out the words good, morning.
Teach the pronunciation. Step2. Presentation.
Teacher hang up the picture say :
Who is he? you know ?He is Bob. He is a boy. Teach the name Bob. then teach the others like this too.
Boys: Bob Dale Eric Frank
Girls: Helen Cindy Alice Grace
Then teach the greeting words: hi(嗨) hello(你好)
Show a picture with Eric, let Ss guess what Eric wants to say to us. The answer is: Hello! or Good morning. Then help them to say: Hello, Eric! or Good morning, Eric. Step3. Listen
Play the recording for the first time, Ss only listen. Play the recording a second time. Then students read it together. Read them in group.
Step4.pairwork 1b
Ss practice the conversations in pairs. T moves around the classroom when Ss are practicing. Give them some help if needed. Ask Ss to practice greeting each other. They can use their Chinese names if they wish. Encourage them to use their English names if they can. Ask them to practice using all the different greetings taught in Activity 1a.
Students show their conversations to whole class. Homework
