一、教材分析
本单元围绕“customs”这一中心话题开展系列教学活动,让学生学习谈论应该做什么和学习不同国家的风俗习惯。 Section A通过三个听力练习, 二个对话练习, 一段阅读帮助学生主要学习和谈论初次见面的礼仪和了解不同国家人民对待时间、访友的不同习惯。
二、教学目标用be supposed to 表示应该、被期望What are you supposed to do when you meet someone?
--I am supposed to kiss.
--When were you supposed to arrive?
--I was supposed to arrive at 7:00,but I arrived at 8:00. 3.四会掌握下列词汇 kiss, shake hands, be supposed to, bow
能力目标:1.能够描述自己或他人在不同场合应该做什么;
能同他人讨论不同国家的风习惯,如初次见面的礼仪等。
了解各国风俗文化差异。比较分析人际交往风俗和礼仪学会合作交流学会比较不同文化的差异“We should say hello”, Teacher changes it into: We are supposed to say “hello” . And adds: You are not supposed to shake hands. You are not supposed to bow. At the same time, presents them in PPT.
Step 3 Practicing
1a students match the customs lettered a, b, and c with the numbered countries. Then show their guessing by saying: I think people are supposed to _____ in ________ .This activity introduces some target language and gives students practice under-standing the target language in spoken conversation.
1b students listen once and check their guessing to get to know the customs of greeting in different countries.
1c Pairwork Ss talk about what people in different countries do when they meet for the first time.This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.
Look and find where they are from . This activity helps Ss make sure they know the customs of greeting in different countries.
