Then main contents and operational model of OHSMS are introduced.It is pointed out that the OHSMS can improve management level and occupational health and safetyconditons.The relations- hip between risk control in OHSMS and hidden accidents investigation and control mechanism in c- onventional safety managemet is analyzed by interp reting several OHSMS standardsrelated terms. It is recommended to take a comprehensive evaluation tool combined with qualitative and quantitat- tive evaluation methods based on the enterp rise’s current deficiencies in risk assessment methodoi- ogy; meanwhile,principles and ideas are proposed for controlling the risks that have different natur- es. Additionally, corresponding relationship between OHSMS and conventional safety management are also analyzed from the operation control, performance monitoring mechanism and other aspects. The operation of OHSMS should focus on effective hazard control, reasonable risk control measur- es, and continual improvement by implementing management programs and introducing performan- ce monitoring mechanism.
