Analysis on the Prospect of Developing the Sports Industry for the Elderly in China 　　Abstract. Developing the sports industry for the elderly is not only meeting the needs of the aging society, but also an internal requirement on promoting the harmonious development of society. In this paper, by starting from the current situation of the aging development in China, the problems encountered by the elderly and the roles of physical exercises in solving the problems of the elderly are analyzed in depth. On this basis, developing the sports industry for the elderly is proposed, and also the advantages and disadvantages of the industrial development are analyzed together. Finally, suggestions are proposed about promoting the development of the sports industry for the elderly in China. 　　Key words: Aging Society; the Sports Industry for the Elderly; Physical Exercises 　　1.Current Situation of the Aging Development in China 　　1.1 Current Situation of the Aging Development in China 　　The latest data, which was released by Chinas Aging Office, showed that the number of the aging population above 60 years old had reached 184.99 million by the end of 2011, accounting for 13.7% of the total population, and increasing by 0.4% from the prior year. According to the international definition on aging society, a society can be judged to enter aging society if the proportion of the elderly above 60 years old has been higher than 10% in the total population. 　　1.2 Life State of the Elderly under the Background of Aging 　　China has entered the aging society, but the conditions of the aging society have not been known by people.
