When considering the management of global interdependence, it is necessary to highlight not only US subsidiaries in foreign countries, but also foreign subsidiaries in the US. Because FDI in the US is increasing, Americans are becoming more sensitive to what they perceive as a lack of control over their own country’s business. In Japan, CSR traditionally means taking care of employees. In the US it often means sharing responsibility for the community. One reason for this difference is that US companies get tax deductions for corporate philanthropy, whereas Japanese companies do not. To date
